Mechi

Mechi is one of the 14 zone that lies in Nepal. It is named after Mechi river as Mechi river flows through this zone. It lies in Eastern Development Region. Koshi zone is one of the developing zone of Nepal. Koshi zone contain all three geographical region which are Mountain Region, Hilly Region and Terai Region. Ilam is the headquarters of this zone. Ilam is also famous for tea. Mechi zone consist of four district which are Ilam,  Jhapa, Panchthar and Taplejung. Its neighbouring zone is Koshi. The main inhabitants of this zone are Kirant while people from other caste like Brahmins, sherpa, tharu, chhetris, Tamang etc too live here. The main occupation of this zone is Agriculture and Tourism while Trade and Animal Husbandry, Business are side occupation of this zone. The climate of this zone is hot, dry, cold and rainy. Illam, Kanchanjangha Conservation Area, Antu etc of the important tourist area of this zone.

Koshi

Koshi is one of the 14 zone that lies in Nepal. It is named after Koshi river as Koshi river flows through this zone. It lies in Eastern Development Region. Koshi zone is one of the developing zone of Nepal. Koshi zone contain all three geographical region which are Mountain Region, Hilly Region and Terai Region. Biratnagar is the headquarters of this zone. koshi zone consist of six district which are Bhojpur, Dhankuta, Morang, Sankhuwasabha, Sunsari and  Terhathum. Its neighbouring zones are Mechi and Sagarmatha. The main inhabitants of this zone are Tharu while people from other caste like Brahmins, sherpa, newar, Tamang etc too live here. The main occupation of this zone is agriculture and tourism while trade and animal husbandry, Business are side occupation of this zone. The climate of this zone is hot, dry, cold and rainy. Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve, Makalu Barun Conservation Area etc are one of  the important tourist area of this zone. 

Sagarmatha

Sagarmatha is one of the 14 zone that lies in Nepal. It is named after Sagarmatha or Mt Everest in Nepali. It lies in Eastern Development Region. Sagarmatha zone is one of the developing zone of Nepal. Sagarmatha zone contain all three geographical region which are Mountain Region, Hilly Region and Terai Region. The highest mountain of the world Mt Everest falls on this zone. Rajbiraj is the headquarters of this zone. Sagarmatha zone consist of six district which are Khotang, Okhaldhunga, Saptari, Siraha, Solukhumbu and Udayapur. Its neighbouring zones are Koshi and Janakpur. The main inhabitants of this zone are sherpa while people from other caste like Brahmins, Gurung, Newar, Tamang etc too live here. The main occupation of this zone is Agriculture and Tourism while Trade and Animal Husbandry, Business are side occupation of this zone. The climate of this zone is hot, dry, cold and rainy. Sagarmatha National Park, Mt Everest etc are one of the important tourist area of this zone. 

Janakpur

Janakpur is one of the 14 zone that lies in Nepal. It is named after king Janak who used to rule Janakpur in ancient time. It lies in Central Development Region. Janakpur zone is one of the developing zone of Nepal. Janakpur zone contain all three geographical region which are Mountain Region, Hilly Region and Terai Region. Janakpur is the headquarters of this zone. Janakpur zone consist of six district which are Dhanusa, Dholkha, Mahottari, Ramechhap, Sarlahi and Sindhuli. Its neighbouring zones are Bagmati, Narayani and Sagarmatha. The main inhabitants of this zone are Tharu while people from other caste like Brahmins, sherpa, newar, Tamang etc too live here. The main occupation of this zone is Agriculture and Tourism while Trade and Animal Husbandry are side occupation of this zone. The climate of this zone is hot, dry, cold and rainy. Janakpur and its temple area and Sinddhuli etc are one of the important tourist area of this zone.

Bagmati

Bagmati is one of the 14 zone that lies in Nepal. It is named after the Bagmati River as Bagmati river flows through it. It lies in Central Development Region. Bagmati zone is one of the most developed zone of Nepal as the capital city of Nepal which is Kathmandu lies here. Bagmati zone contain two of three geographical region which are Mountain Region and Hilly Region. Kathmandu is the headquarters of this zone. Bagmati zone consist of eight district which are Bhaktapur, Dhading, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Kavrepalanchok, Nuwakot, Rasuwa and Sindhupalchok. Its neighbouring zones are Gandaki , Narayani and Janakpur. The main inhabitants of this zone are Newar while people from other caste like Brahmins, Chhetries, Tamang etc too live here. The main occupation of this zone is Agriculture while Trade, Tourism, Business are side occupation of this zone. The climate of this zone is cold and rainy. The only International airport of Nepal also falls on this zone. Bhaktapur, Nuwakot, Kathmandu, Patan etc are the important tourist area of this zone.

Narayani


Narayani is one of the 14 zone that lies in Nepal. It is named after the Narayani River as Narayani river flows through it Narayani also comes from the word Narayan refers to Lord VISHNU. It lies in Central Development Region. Narayani zone is one of the developing zone of Nepal. Narayani zone contain two of three geographical region which are Hilly Region and Terai Region. Birgunj is the headquarters of this zone. Narayani zone consist of five district which are Bara, Chitwan, Makwanpur, Parsa and Rautahat. Its neighbouring zones are Gandaki, Lumbini, Bagmati and Janakpur. The main inhabitants of this zone are Tharu and Brahmins while people from other caste like Chhetries, Tamang etc too live here. The main occupation of this zone is Agriculture while Trade, Tourism, Business are side occupation of this zone. The climate of this zone is Hot and dry. Chitwan national Park, Hetauda, Parsa Wildlife Reserve etc are the important tourist area of this zone.

Gandaki

Gandaki is one of the 14 zone that lies in Nepal. It is named after the Gandaki river as Gandaki river flows in this zone. It lies in Western Development Region. Gandaki zone is one of the developing zone of Nepal. Gandaki zone contain two of three geographical region which are Mountain Region and Hilly Region. Pokhara is the headquarters of this zone. Gandaki zone consist of six district which are Gorkha, Kaski, Lamjung, Manang, Syangja and Tanahu. Its neighbouring zones are Bagmati, Narayani, Lumbini and Dhawalagiri. The main inhabitants of this zone are Gurung while people from other caste like Brahmins, sherpa, newar, Tamang etc too live here. The main occupation of this zone is Agriculture and Tourism while Trade and Animal Husbandry, are side occupation of this zone. The climate of this zone is cold and rainy. Annapurna Conservation area, Pokhara, Ghandruk, Manasalu Conservation Area etc are one of the important tourist area of this zone.

Lumbini

Lumbini is one of the 14 zone that lies in Nepal. It is named after the Lumbini site that lies here. Lumbini is also the birth place of Lord BUDDHA who was the founder of Buddhist Philosophy. It lies in Western Development Region. Lumbini zone is one of the developing zone of Nepal. Lumbini zone contain two of three geographical region which are Hilly Region and Terai Region. Butwal is the headquarters of this zone. Lumbini zone consist of six district which are Arghakhanchi, Gulmi,  Kapilvastu, Nawalparasi, Palpa and Rupandehi. Its neighbouring zones are Narayani, Gandaki, Dhawalagiri and Rapti. The main inhabitants of this zone are Tharu while people from other caste like Brahmins, Gurung, newar, Tamang etc too live here. The main occupation of this zone is Agriculture and Tourism while Trade and Animal Husbandry are side occupation of this zone. The climate of this zone is hot and dry. Dhawalagiri

Dhawalagiri is one of the 14 zone that lies in Nepal. It is named after the Dhawalagiri mountain as Mt Dhawalagiri fall in this zone. It lies in Western Development Region. Dhawalagiri zone is one of the developing zone of Nepal. Dhawalagiri zone contain two of three geographical region which are Mountain Region and Hilly Region.Baglung is the headquarters of this zone. Dhawalagiri zone consist of four district which are Baglung, Mustang, Myagdi and Parbat. Its neighbouring zones are Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Rapti. The main inhabitants of this zone are sherpa while people from other caste like Brahmins, Gurung, Tamang etc too live here. The main occupation of this zone is Agriculture and Tourism while Trade and Animal Husbandry, are side occupation of this zone. The climate of this zone is cold and rainy. Rapti

Rapti is one of the 14 zone that lies in Nepal. It is named after the Rapti river as Rapti river flows in it. It lies in Mid-Western Development Region. Rapti zone is one of the developing zone of Nepal. Rapti zone contain two of three geographical region which are Hilly Region and Terai Region. Tulsipur is the headquarters of this zone. Rapti zone consist of five district which are Dang, Deukhuri, Pyuthan, Rolpa, Rukum and Salyan. Its neighbouring zones are Lumbini, Dhawalagiri, Karnali and Bheri. The main inhabitants of this zone are Bahuns, Chhetris and Magar while people from other caste like Gurung, Newar, Tamang etc too live here. The main occupation of this zone is Agriculture and Animal Husbandry while Trade, Tourism are side occupation of this zone. The climate of this zone is hot and dry. Mahabharat Range  is one of the important tourist area of this zone. 

Karnali

Karnali is one of the 14 zone that lies in Nepal. It is named after the karnali River as Karnali river flows in it. It lies in Mid-Western Development Region. Karnali zone is one of the least developed zone of Nepal even though Karnali is the largest zone of Nepal. Karnali zone contain two of three geographical region which are Mountain Region and Hilly Region. Jumla is the headquarters of this zone. Karnali zone consist of five district which are Dolpa, Humla, Jumla, Kalikot and Mugu. Its neighbouring zones are Seti, Bheri, Rapti and Dhawalagiri. The main inhabitants of this zone are Sherpa while people from other caste like Brahmins, Tamang etc too live here. The main occupation of this zone is Animal Husbandry while Agriculture, Trade, Tourism are side occupation of this zone. The climate of this zone is cold and rainy. Rara National Park, Rara Lake, shey Phoksundo National Park is one of the important tourist area of this zone.  

Bheri


Bheri is one of the 14 zone that lies in Nepal. It is named after the Bheri River as Bheri river flows in it. It lies in Mid-Western Development Region. Bheri zone is one of the developing zone of Nepal as most part of this zone fall in Terai region. Bheri zone contain two of three geographical region which are Hilly Region and Terai Region. Nepalgunj is the headquarters of this zone.Bheri zone consist of five district which are Banke, Bardiya, Dailekh, Jajarkot and Surkhet. Its neighbouring zones are Seti, Karnali and Rapti. The main inhabitants of this zone are Tharu while people from other caste like Brahmins, Tamang etc too live here. The main occupation of this zone is Agriculture while Trade, Tourism and Animal Husbandry are side occupation of this zone. The climate of this zone is hot and dry. Royal Bardiya National Park is one of the important tourist area of this zone.

Seti

Seti is one of the 14 zone that lies in Nepal. It is named after the Seti River as Seti river flows in it. It lies in Far-Western Development Region. Seti zone is one of the least developed zone of Nepal. There are lack of transportation in this zone as most part of this zone are very remote and the path is very dangerous for transportaion to run on it. Seti zone contain all three geographical region which are Mountain Region, Hilly Region and Terai Region. Dipayal is the headquarters of this zone. Seti zone consist of five district which are Achham Bajhang Bajura Doti Kailali. Its neighbouring zone is Mahakali, Karnali and Bheri. The main occupation of this zone is Agriculture while Trade, Tourism and Animal Husbandry are side occupation of this zone. The climate of this zone is hot, cold and dry. Kaptad National park etc are one of the important tourist area of this zone.

Mahakali

Mahakali is one of the 14 zone that lies in Nepal. It is named after the Mahakali River as Mahakali river flows in it. It lies in Far-Western Development Region. Mahakali zone is one of the least developed zone of Nepal. Mahakali zone contain all three geographical region which are Mountain Region, Hilly Region and Terai Region. Mahendranagar is the headquarters of this zone. Mahakali zone consist of four district which are Baitadi, Dadeldhura, Darchula and Kanchanpur. Its neighbouring zone is Seti.The main occupation of this zone is Agriculture while Trade, Tourism and Animal Husbandry are side occupation of this zone. Mahakali zone has distinct language, culture and history than any other zone of Nepal. The language spoken here is Kumani language which is some what different fron regular Nepali speaking language. The climate of this zone is hot, cold and dry. Royal Shuklaphanta Wildlife Reserve, Api Peck etc are one of the important tourist area of this zone.
