Narayani


Narayani is one of the 14 zone that lies in Nepal. It is named after the Narayani River as Narayani river flows through it Narayani also comes from the word Narayan refers to Lord VISHNU. It lies in Central Development Region. Narayani zone is one of the developing zone of Nepal. Narayani zone contain two of three geographical region which are Hilly Region and Terai Region. Birgunj is the headquarters of this zone. Narayani zone consist of five district which are Bara, Chitwan, Makwanpur, Parsa and Rautahat. Its neighbouring zones are Gandaki, Lumbini, Bagmati and Janakpur. The main inhabitants of this zone are Tharu and Brahmins while people from other caste like Chhetries, Tamang etc too live here. The main occupation of this zone is Agriculture while Trade, Tourism, Business are side occupation of this zone. The climate of this zone is Hot and dry. Chitwan national Park, Hetauda, Parsa Wildlife Reserve etc are the important tourist area of this zone.
