Bheri


Bheri is one of the 14 zone that lies in Nepal. It is named after the Bheri River as Bheri river flows in it. It lies in Mid-Western Development Region. Bheri zone is one of the developing zone of Nepal as most part of this zone fall in Terai region. Bheri zone contain two of three geographical region which are Hilly Region and Terai Region. Nepalgunj is the headquarters of this zone.Bheri zone consist of five district which are Banke, Bardiya, Dailekh, Jajarkot and Surkhet. Its neighbouring zones are Seti, Karnali and Rapti. The main inhabitants of this zone are Tharu while people from other caste like Brahmins, Tamang etc too live here. The main occupation of this zone is Agriculture while Trade, Tourism and Animal Husbandry are side occupation of this zone. The climate of this zone is hot and dry. Royal Bardiya National Park is one of the important tourist area of this zone.
