Lumbini

Lumbini is one of the 14 zone that lies in Nepal. It is named after the Lumbini site that lies here. Lumbini is also the birth place of Lord BUDDHA who was the founder of Buddhist Philosophy. It lies in Western Development Region. Lumbini zone is one of the developing zone of Nepal. Lumbini zone contain two of three geographical region which are Hilly Region and Terai Region. Butwal is the headquarters of this zone. Lumbini zone consist of six district which are Arghakhanchi, Gulmi,  Kapilvastu, Nawalparasi, Palpa and Rupandehi. Its neighbouring zones are Narayani, Gandaki, Dhawalagiri and Rapti. The main inhabitants of this zone are Tharu while people from other caste like Brahmins, Gurung, newar, Tamang etc too live here. The main occupation of this zone is Agriculture and Tourism while Trade and Animal Husbandry are side occupation of this zone. The climate of this zone is hot and dry. Lumbini, Taulihawa etc are one of the important tourist area of this zone.
